Our story

Sir Isaac Newton once said, 'What we know is a drop. What we don't know is an ocean.' This resonates with us. (Actually, fun fact, our values are built on an acronym of Sir Isaac Newton’s name #ISAAC). But we believe - there's always more to learn, more to explore. That's our journey – going beyond the drop, diving into the ocean of what we don’t know (…yet). 

We’ve got our five guiding values: Inclusive, Sustainable, Authentic, Attentive, and Considerate.  And they serve as the compass for how we do things. Keeping us honest, keeping us pushing forward. Keeping us 5Values.

We’ve always known we need to stay authentic and true to what we say we’re going to do and how we’re going to genuinely live and breathe our values. We’ve never wanted to just stick them up on the wall and ‘let that be that’. Over the years, we’ve found ourselves inspired by organisations taking tangible steps in doing the right thing and they prompted us to ask, ‘how can we do more?’ So, in February 2022, we rolled up our sleeves and we started our B Corp journey - A certification for businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency and accountability. It’s a path of rigorous standards…and we’ll be honest, it’s not for the faint-hearted.

The journey was all about sharpening our practices, and doing better for our customers, our team, and the planet. Opening our eyes to where we are right now and where we want to be. And...

We did it!

After a two-year process with lots of lessons learned along the way. We are so PROUD to tell you we’ve finally reached ‘The Highest Level of Accountability for Social and Environmental Impact’ and have achieved our verified score. We’re officially a B Corp Certified business.

This isn't us claiming to be the best or to preach perfection. We're not perfect. But what we are, is committed to real accountability, to making measurable strides in being better. That’s the essence of our B Corp pursuit and everything we’re building here at 5Values.
