Our B-Corp Certification Journey
At the start of 2022, we started our B Corp certification journey. Certified B Corporations are leaders in the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy. Unlike other certifications for businesses, B Lab is unique in its ability to measure a company’s entire social and environmental impact.
B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.
In order to achieve our certification, we will need to demonstrate high social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing our risk review.
Our 100 Hours Initiative
Simply - 100 hours, per employee, to give back.
That’s right - 100 hours, paid, outside of our team’s holiday allowance, to give back to our community. Our 100 hours campaign ensures that we are allocating the time and resources needed to make a positive impact in our community but also, ensures we are championing our team to be better and to invest in themselves and the causes and initiatives that mean the most to them, not just to the business.
Ofsetting Our Carbon
We are partnered with Ecologi as part of our goal to be a more climate-positive business.
Ecologi provides businesses with climate solutions. From net-zero to large-impact purchases, they act as a trusted partner in protecting our world.
This allows us to allocate a fund per employee to offset their carbon footprint. Each employee fund will be paid directly to Ecologi and pumped into planting trees and funding climate initiatives across the world.
Ecologi enables us to track our impact in real-time, so we can see the number of trees we have planted and the causes we have helped fund. For instance: generating electricity from landfill in Brazil, funding the protection of rainforests and contributing to the roll out of high-efficiency cookstoves in Tanzania.
